


Senior Control Systems Engineer
Salary: £50,000 - £75,000
Requiring a solid understanding of control system and control theory, this position will involve working directly under our Head of R&D and Engineering. The Senior Control Systems Engineer will play a key role through all aspects of the technology development lifecycle, taking concepts through to commercial product for customers.
What you will need:
A proven ability across the software engineering lifecycle with a good knowledge of system and architecture design, modelling and development using MATLAB and Simulink.

Strong skills using MATLAB/Simulink.

Experience in signal processing and control system algorithm development.

Experience using MATLAB/Simulink auto code generation tools.

Strong delivery focus, taking on end-to-end ownership of projects and/or products

Self-management and drive; willing to proactively take on complex challenges
It would be useful to have:
-
Experience setting up MATLAB/Simulink hardware in the loop testing frameworks.

Experience in embedded C/C++ development for real time systems
-
Knowledge of Power Systems and/or Power Converters
-
Proven track record of on-time and high-quality project delivery.

Experience working in both start-up environments as well as larger technical organizations

Good understanding of digital control of power converter control techniques

Up to date knowledge of the latest developments in power electronics engineering especially in the area of converter and filter technologies, with a focus on utility substation systems (transformers, solid state systems, fast signal processing) and industry

Experience in developing (Analysis and Synthesis) advanced control strategies, measurement processing and protection algorithms and firmware for power electric converters

Various techniques and algorithm development for voltage and current control of multi-level inverters (MMC)

Experience and background in Programming and Debugging of C / C#, C++ or Python language and Assembler, Familiar with MATLAB / Simulink tool

Knowledge of embedded DSP / microcontrollers Real-Time Operating Systems RTOS 32, ARM Core RISC software and solid state PWM modulation control

Knowledge of electrical safety regulations and certification

Good written and verbal communication skills
